Can Aging Be Vaccinated? Rethinking Senescence Through Immunity
Tohru Minamino, Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine, Tokyo
We are pleased to announce that Professor Tohru Minamino (Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine, Tokyo) will join Targeting Longevity 2026 as a speaker.
Professor Minamino is internationally recognized for his pioneering work on cellular senescence, immune-mediated clearance of senescent cells, and innovative vaccination strategies targeting senescence. His research places the immune system at the center of aging biology, offering a bold shift from downstream symptom management toward upstream, mechanism-based intervention strategies.
At Targeting Longevity 2026, Professor Minamino will present a perspective-driven talk entitled:
Can Aging Be Vaccinated? Rethinking Senescence Through Immunity
This contribution fits closely with the spirit of the meeting, which aims to rethink aging as a systemic and dynamic process, integrating immunology, metabolism, senescence, and long-term biological trajectories. His work challenges conventional views on aging interventions and opens new directions for immune-based strategies in longevity research.
Professor Minamino is Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular Biology and Medicine at Juntendo University Graduate School of Medicine and Director of Cardiovascular Medicine at Juntendo University Hospital.
